How Much Should Wedding Photography Cost?

How Much Should Wedding Photography Cost?

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! We hope the wedding planning process is going smoothly for you. We wanted to take a moment to discuss the pricing and budget for wedding photography, as we understand it’s an important aspect of your special day.

As professional wedding photographers, we strive to provide you with the best possible experience and capture your precious moments in a way that you will cherish for a lifetime. We understand that pricing and budgeting for wedding photography can be overwhelming, so we want to provide you with a clear understanding of how it works.

Wedding photography pricing typically involves several factors, including the photographer’s experience, skill level, equipment, time and effort invested, and the services included in the package. As experienced and skilled photographers, Glenn Pictures invests a significant amount of time and effort into capturing your wedding day, including pre-wedding consultations, preparation, shooting the event itself, post-processing, and creating your final images. We also use professional-grade equipment and have backup equipment to ensure that your day is captured with the highest quality.

In addition to the time and effort invested, wedding photography pricing also includes the cost of professional editing and natural retouching of the images, which enhances their overall quality and aesthetics. We take pride in delivering images that are carefully edited to ensure they meet our high standards and your expectations.

Furthermore, wedding photography pricing may also include other services such as album design, prints, or additional coverage for events like engagement shoots, rehearsal dinners, or day-after sessions. These additional services can add value and customization to your photography package.

When it comes to budgeting for wedding photography, it’s important to consider your overall wedding budget and prioritize what’s most important to you. Wedding photography is an investment in capturing the memories of your special day that you will cherish for years to come. It’s essential to allocate a realistic budget for photography based on your priorities and expectations.

As professional photographers, we understand that photography pricing can be all over the place and hopefully, we can better explain where photography pricing is as a whole according to the industry and where we fit in. Also, keep in mind your wedding venue and if they require your photographer to be insured.

  • $0-$1,500 Beginner Photographer: Someone who likes to take photos, and has little to no experience shooting and understanding the ins and outs of a wedding day. This type of photographer is still learning and trying to build their portfolio. They have no backup equipment if equipment fails during a live event. Typically beginners shoot in automatic mode and they do not understand the basics of light and directing clients to make them feel comfortable in front of the camera.
  • $1,800-$3,000 Large Photographer Studio: You’ll just be another sales number and won’t get a unique personal experience. Studios typically do a volume of weddings(50-100) and hire anyone who owns a working camera to shoot your wedding. Little to no training is passed on to the photographers assigned to your wedding and will be an unprofessional experience. Sometimes they offer multiple services for a low price just to get the sale and diminish the quality of the services they offer. Often times you only get to chat with a sales rep and never the actual photographer hired for your day.
  • $3,500-$5,000 Small Business Professional Photographer: These are insured photographers that give you a unique experience from beginning to end. You will feel like a priority and have your questions answered in a timely manner. Professional photographers are knowledgeable of the challenges a wedding day may have and can pivot during the day. This is where Glenn Pictures falls into the pricing range and hope you see the value in the experience you have seen in us so far. We have a small trained team to shoot a consistent style and only take on 18-25 weddings in order to give each couple the attention they deserve.
  • $10k+: High-End Photographer: Someone who only does celebrity or extravagant destination weddings. They are great in their craft but more concerned about going viral, being published, and being praised for how great they are.

I hope this explanation gives you a better understanding of wedding photography pricing and budgeting. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your specific needs in more detail, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m here to help and make your wedding photography experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

Thank you for considering me as your wedding photographer. I look forward to capturing your special day and creating beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
